Location: Wellington, Lower Hutt

 Expol are New Zealand’s largest manufactures and recyclers of polystyrene, so if you’re keen and green we’re looking for someone to work on our factory floor, there are no specific technology/language requirements for this role as all training will be provided.

 

 

  • Monday to Friday between 6:00am and 6:00pm
  • Competitive hourly rate with overtime and weekend work available

Machine Operator

Expol Ltd is a leading and progressive national polystyrene manufacturing company with moulding plants and distribution branches throughout New Zealand.  Expol’s has been thriving over the last 24 months and my client is currently seeking a  full time machine operator / despatch assistant to join their busy small team.

About the Role – this is a duel role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for machining and processing work orders to meet company quality control, and throughput standards. In addition you will be assisting the Branch Manager, from time to time – to look after the calls, despatching and ensuring the planned prouduction work is completed.   We are looking for an energetic, hard working, reliable person who has had experience operating production machinery and some basic office skills.  We offer steady work plus overtime.  You will not be expected to do repairs and maintenance, but will be required to be watchful and pick up any machinery faults or repairs and let the branch manager know.


Our Ideal Candidate

You will be fit, healthy and reliable, and have a current full drivers licence. You will have the following work experience and attitudes:

  • previous experiences in manufacturing, production of factory settings
  • excellent attention to details
  • good communicator
  • Some ability to use mechanical hand tools
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Team orientated
  • Have a high regard for health & safety
  • Fork lift licence preferred but not necessary
  • Lifting of batches of polystyrene produces (not heavy)
  • Able to operate trollies, forlift and other vehicles as and when required

Machine Operator/Trainee Supervisor

Expol Ltd is a leading and progressive national polystyrene manufacturing company with moulding plants and distribution branches throughout New Zealand.  Expol’s has been thriving over the last 24 months and my client is currently seeking to hire a  full time machine operator who wants to progress and learn aspects of supervising such as ensuring machinery is at capacity during the shift and planned workloads are met.

About the Role 

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for machining and processing work orders to meet company quality control, and throughput standards. In addition you will be assisting the Supervisor with ensuring the planned workload is achieved.

You will need to be an energetic, hard working, reliable person who has experience operating production machinery, ensure quality of product and perform general maintenance on the machinery.  You will have mechanical aptitude and there is potential to learn aspects of supervising over time. We offer steady work plus overtime.


Our Ideal Candidate

You will be fit, healthy and reliable, and have a current full drivers licence. This role would suit an experienced machine  operator who understands quality control and wants to progress to learning aspects of supervising shifts whilst working on the machines. You will have the following work experience and attitudes:

  • Previous experiences as a machinery operator is essential
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance routines on machinery
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communicator
  • Some ability to use mechanical hand tools
  • Reliable and self-motivated

Truck Driver

  • South Island: Cromwell
  • Position: Full Time
  • Hours: 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday
  • Remuneration: $25 to $27 per hour

EXPOL are New Zealand’s largest manufactures and recyclers of polystyrene construction products. Our Cromwell factory is currently looking for a Class 2 truck driver to fill a long term position.

You will need:

  • A current New Zealand driving licence for this class and driving experience with a trailer (trailer is under 3500kg).
  • A good understanding of building sites and Lot numbers.
  • To be physically fit as lifting is required
