Whatever floats your boat: EXPOL passes the ultimate water test

When Dayna Langley and some of her classmates in Year 8 at Kohia Terrace School were tasked with building a boat out of recyclable materials, EXPOL polystyrene insulation emerged as the obvious choice. As well as being buoyant, water tight and recyclable, it is also strong and very durable.
“The boat had to be able to hold two people and travel 25m in a pool (so) we thought that EXPOL insulation would be the best option for our boat material. We spent 2 weeks planning, designing, constructing and racing our fully polystyrene boat. It floated super well and we could have used it many more times. Thank you EXPOL for letting us use your polystyrene!” said Dayna.
Look out Team New Zealand – a new generation of innovative boat designers is in the making!
