Its often stated that the simple ideas are the most practical, and when a Company combines twenty five years of experience with practical insulation solutions for the twenty first century, we all need to know about it.

When Terry Mischefski, the Managing Director of Expol Ltd. began twenty-five years ago, little did he know that within fifteen years, Expanded Polystyrene would play a major role in the Building, Insulation, and Construction Industry throughout New Zealand.

EXPOL Under-floor Insulation is Expol's most recent product development, and is designed specifically for insulating the under side of woden floor homes and buildings.

We only need to take our memories back to last winter, when most of the country suffered heavy frosts and cold daily temperatures.

The affect on our energy resources was almost catastrophic, with lake levels in the South Island recording record low levels. Maybe its time New Zealand homeowners undertook a little responsibility to ensure their own homes are well insulated before we are forced to engage in the building of one or more, new and extremely expensive hydro- electricity plant.

The product is described as a 1.2 metre long panel of Flame Retardant Expanded Polystyrene, 60mm in thickness and of four standard widths to fit between most standard joist widths.
BRANZ Appraised

Expol FlexicutAll panels have a Trademarked Flexi-cut edge on both sides to allow a compression of around 15mm for ease of installation, and to ensure a snug fit between the joists.

For retrofitting existing floors: use the non-corrosive nylon fittings provided with stainless steel nails to secure panels and to support any areas where the underfloor is subject to wind. Fixing panels will ensure Expol under floor insulation stays in place for the lifetime of your home.
