How EXPOL reduce, reuse and recycle

EXPOL insulation is one of the best choices for keeping your home cool in summer and warm in winter. It’s also New Zealand made.
Along with providing you with some serious product quality – we’re also serious when it comes to sustainability. Here are some of the ways we reduce, reuse and recycle at EXPOL.
EXPOL run an in-house recycling plant at our five EXPOL factories around New Zealand. It means all waste product created during the manufacturing process is recycled into reusable polystyrene.
We even collect waste product from construction sites and return it to our factories to be recycled.
To get an idea of just how much EXPOL recycle, imagine an average-sized lounge room. If you filled two of those from top to bottom each day – that would be about right. Quite a bit!
We can even recycle polystyrene dust (yes, really!)
Our recycling means that every piece of EXPOL insulation that isn’t needed, can be used again – and even again.
EXPOL ceiling, garage door and underfloor insulation is made from rigid expanded polystyrene (or EPS). Just two percent of each insulation panel is polystyrene – the other 98 percent is literally hot air.
EXPOL insulation is so efficient that it can save up to 200 times its own resource in thermal energy savings. That’s great news for the environment – and your wallet!
