EXPOL supports 2016 NZ Cable Wakeboarding Champs

While EXPOL polystyrene insulation solutions are great at keeping water and people apart (after all, a dry home is a healthy home!), this year we’re doing just the opposite by getting water and people together at the 2016 NZ Cable Wakeboarding Champs.
If you’re not familiar with the sport, cable wakeboarding is just like conventional wakeboarding except that, instead of being towed by a boat or jetski, the wakeboarder is pulled by a purpose-built winch. The sport’s been around for more than 50 years, with 400 cable parks around the world, but has only recently come to New Zealand.
Located just down the road from EXPOL’s Auckland manufacturing plant, the new Onehunga Basin cable park has been set up by international cable wakeboarding company Rixen. It will provide the venue for the 2016 Championship competition, which is being sponsored by EXPOL. Competition winners will be granted the opportunity to represent New Zealand at the 2016 World Championships in Mexico and the World cup events in Shanghai and Egypt.
Keen to catch the action?
The 2016 NZ Cable Wakeboarding Champs are being held at the Onehunga Basin on the 25th and 26th June. The event is free for spectators so, if you’re in Auckland on those dates, make sure you head down to catch the action.
