EXPOL Platinum Board Insulation Helps Life Box Take Shape

July 03, 2018 at 12:45 PM

Earlier this year, EXPOL became involved with a pretty special construction project. Spearheaded by Hawkes Bay design practice Architecture and Interiors Ltd, the Life Box project will see a 40 foot container transformed into a stunning tiny house that is auctioned off to raise funds for cancer charity group Look Good, Feel Better.

With space at a premium, the Life Box required high performance insulation that would fit neatly in the wall cavities. EXPOL’s premium, graphite infused Platinum polystyrene board was selected for its exceptional insulating qualities, and for its superior moisture resistance. After learning about the project and its cause, EXPOL’s management team was happy to become a supporter.

As well as achieving a high R-value (the key indicator of how effective an insulation solution is) and preventing transfer of moisture between the exterior cladding and interior wall linings, EXPOL Platinum Board is proven to hold its shape over time. Unlike ‘batts’ type insulation, EXPOL boards won’t slump – meaning they will not lose their effectiveness.
